Chairmans Chat April 2024

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully this newsletter finds you all well.

Past Events

Friday 8th March 2024 – AGM – Village Hall, Matching Tye

27 Members attended the AGM. We ran through the previous years events which hopefully provided something for everyone. Mike Crowley gave the meeting a comprehensive breakdown of the clubs finances which remain healthy. We then elected the committee to serve for the next year, Gus Mckie decided to step down due to the distance now needed to travel, many thanks to Gus for all his work during the past years. Dennis Northcott and Jan Fielding also expressed a wish to remain committee members but to take a step back. The committee decided to award Dennis & Jan life membership of the club as a thank you for all the effort they have made over many years to keep the club as active as it is today. Richard Way then took members through events planned for the coming year. We also managed to set up a Teams virtual meeting room for anyone who was unable to attend, Colin McKay was the only member who joined us and gave valuable feedback to hopefully improve this option for next year.

The meeting ended with some nibbles and wine.

Wednesday 20th March 2024 – Mid-Month Meal – Rainbow & Dove, Hastingwood

13 members enjoyed our lunchtime mid-month meal, unfortunately I was unable to attend but I believe the food was again very good and the room allocated accommodated us comfortably. Thanks go to Dennis Northcott for organising.

18 Members attended our regular monthly meeting. The weather was kind and we had several classics parked up. This month was the first for car of the month which was awarded to Malcolm Gillespie for his Morgan, congratulations to Malcolm.
