Chairman's Chat 2022


Hello Everyone,


Sunday 6th March is our regular monthly meeting at The Fox Inn, Matching Tye, we meet around 3pm, but some members book themselves in earlier for lunch. Click on this link for contact details https://www.thefoxinn.com/


Parking is limited but there may be space at the village hall a short walk away.


Past Events


Our visit to Whitewebbs museum near Enfield was a great success. Split into three groups with a knowledgeable guide for each group we visited areas not open to the public and explored some fascinating memorabilia along with the two Sterling Moss special exhibits.


The Mid-month lunch at The Spotted Dog, Gt. Barnston had a great turnout with 22 members enjoying the excellent cuisine from Chef and team, many thanks to organisers Dennis Northcott and Jan Fielding.


Events coming up


March 30th De Havilland visit - please pay by 6th March, £20 per head. Meet at 11:00am for tea/Coffee & biscuits followed by a guided tour by one of the museums experienced staff. Please contact Wendy Way for more details.


March 20th Mid-Month lunch, Hunters Meet, Hatfield Heath. Please contact Wendy Way for more details.


April 24th – National Drive-It Day (Plaques available now from FBHVC link on our website) No age restrictions, all cars are welcome. We will meet at the Squadron, North Weald Airfield for breakfast. We will then follow a detailed tulip route to Ridgewell Airfield Museum then to Little Easton Church to see the stained glass windows returning to The Fox, Matching Tye for lunch. April 30th – P&A Wood Rolls Royce specialist, Saturday 10am (max 10 on the tour), with a possible lunch afterwards at Green Man, Linsell. Please contact Wendy Way for more details.


May 28th/29th Sat./Sun (leaving Monday) Newmarket/Ely tour – Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa £465.00 for dinner, bed & breakfast in one of their king bedrooms. We will depart form The Fox and follow a detailed tulip route to the hotel or you can make your own way there. There are two places left for this trip. Please contact Ian Robinson for more details


July 3rd Sunday – Annual Show and BBQ This will be a collaborative event with Matching Green Cricket Club and other local organisations, however we still need help from club members on Saturday 2nd to set up and for the show day. Please contact Gus McKie if you are able to assist in any way.


Committee Matters

To ensure transparency in our committee meetings it has been agreed that a copy of agreed minutes would be available on our website. They will only be available to people who have signed up to our website and are fully paid up members of the club.
