Chairman's Chat March 23

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully this newsletter finds you all well.

Past Events

Friday 3rd March saw about 25 members gather at Matching Tye village hall for our AGM.

There was a brief review of the previous year’s events and mid-month meals, hopefully everyone found something to interest them and attend something.

Mike Crowley gave us a comprehensive review of financial matters, the club continues to have a healthy bank balance to take the club forward for future years.

We then elected a new committee for this year being.

Ian Robinson – chairman Mike Crowley – treasurer Jan Fielding – membership secretary Wendy Way- secretary

Dennis Northcott – committee member

Gus Mckie – committee member

Mike Stares – committee member

Richard Way – committee member

Jon Rome – car show chairman

A brief outline of events that we are trying to organise for the coming year was given.

I have introduced an award to recognise non-committee members who contribute their time to help organise events and to keep the club going. The first recipients were Rob Chapman & Jon Rome for their many years of hard work in the organisation of the car show.

We were then joined by the chair and vice chair of the trustees of Matching Green School and Richard Morgan representing Matching Parish Council to collect the donations agreed from the profits of the car show. I think it is nice if the recipients can attend the AGM as we are then able to meet the organisations that we support.

Sunday 5th March was our regular Sunday meeting about 15 members gathered at The Fox for a social gathering. We welcomed a new member, Kevin Caunter with his very nice Triumph Stag, so please make him feel welcome. I must admit it felt a bit strange giving a chat to the meeting with Chris Cooper in the audience.
