Chairman's Chat May 2023

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully this newsletter finds you all well.

Future Monthly Meetings Venue

As many of you will be aware the field at The Fox, where we usually park during the summer, has had planning permission granted for the building of two houses. The field has already been fenced off and is no longer available for us to use. This was discussed at Sunday’s meeting and the consensus was that we should start to look for an alternative venue. The committee would like to hear the views of as many members as possible as this has been a contentious issue in the past.

Past Events

Sunday 2nd April 2023 was our regular Sunday meeting about 20 members gathered at The Fox for a social gathering. The first car of the month trophy was awarded to Jenny & Derek Harding for their Mazda MX5 expertly detailed (washed) by Derek.

Wednesday 19th April 2023 saw only six members gather for our first mid-month meal at The Hare, Roxwell for a pleasant evening and meal. Thanks go to Mike Crowley for organising this one.

Sunday 23rd April 2023 saw our Drive It Day event, saw 20 cars setting off from The Squadron, North Weald and following a tulip route map to The Shuttlewoth collection, Biggleswade. There was an optional tour by a very enthusiastic guide around the collection.

My thanks go to Yvonne for her help in planning the route.

Tuesday 25th Noggin & Natter, We had six members attend The Fox for this month’s N&N an improvement on last month but we would still like to see more members come along to this informal gathering, now the nights are lighter and hopefully the weather improves.
